Nature Cure

The whole philosophy & practise of nature cure is built upon 3 basic principles, which have been tested & proved.

The 1st most basic principle is that all forms of disease are due to the same cause viz, accumulation of waste materials & bodily refuse in the system. These wastes; in healthy individuals are removed from the system through organs of elimination. But in case of a deceased person, they are steadily accumulated through years of faulty habits & lifestyle i.e. Wrong Eating, Improper care of body, habits contributing to enervation & nervous exhaustion like worry, overwork & excesses of all kinds. Thus, all natural processes first try to eliminate & flush out toxins from the body.

The 2nd basic principle is that all the acute diseases – fevers, colds, inflammations, digestive disturbances, skin eruptions are nothing but self initiated efforts on the part of the body to throw toxins. All the chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, rheumatism, asthma, kidney disorders are the results of continued suppression of acute diseases through harmful methods such as drugs, vaccines, narcotics & gland extraction. Cancer & other degenerative diseases are due to a large no. of factors such as pollution & metabolic wastes accumulation, primary & secondary diseases, or at times due to other chronic or acute reasons, too…

The 3rd principle is that body contains an elaborate healing mechanism which has the power to bring about a return to normal conditions of health, provided right methods are adopted.

The final word is the power to cure disease lies within the body itself & not in the hands of the doctor.

Healthy lifestyle

These are probably some of the most misunderstood subjects. Most of us seek a comfortable & easy life. By doing this, we adopt such a lifestyle that causes or precipitates large number of diseases. High cholesterol, Low fibre diet, Lack of exercise, Living in congested dwellings, Fast urban life, Smoking, Consumption of alcoholic beverages are some of the most important disease promoting factors. In addition to these factors, Stress, Strain, & Competition have also increased in epidemic proportions. Well! These not only lead to diseases but also degenerate the body totally, leaving it irreparable.

Developments in science & technology also have played havoc in human’s life. People want to live a materialistic life increasingly. Today in this modern society we are looking for happiness & pleasure from material comforts. But, psychologically speaking, our locus of control is just external, while in fact, we are in the state of deterioration internally. We look happy & smile to show that we have no worries, nothing bothers us, & are leading a Tension – free life. However, this isn’t true!

Somewhere deep in the recesses of our mind, our disturbing & hidden thoughts, disappointments, worries, tensions that lie latent.

When & how to clear this cluster within? For this same cluster, constantly bothers us, making us worry unnecessarily, thereby causing or at least aiding the most (or should I say, ‘Worst’) degenerating diseases (Often Incurable!). Every disease; has certain clinical conditions, pathological symptoms, & several prognosis’ externally. But, we often fail to understand that every disease is mainly caused due to Mind – Mental Thinking & Fluctuations. As per Stress Management, “No situation in itself, is stressful… Our way of thinking, attitudes etc. Makes us perceive various seemingly normal situations as stressful. ” As a popular quote very aptly, states “People & situations, both are powerless; without your reaction”

Conclusion: By transforming our attitudes, we can transform pain into pleasure, criticism into blessing, & sorrow into bliss. I believe, that curing any disease should mostly deal with treating the mind, restoring the soul’s energy, repairing & nourishing mental health, reviving or inducing spiritual health & well – being, living based on healthy living principles, following a healthy sattvik diet/nutrition. This truly embraces the treatment of psychological & psychosomatic diseases by holistic health care

RED TEA

RED TEA

Even better for you than green tea!

It’s delicious, widely available, and super high in antioxidants. And it’s totally caffeine-free. Oh, and kids love it.
Though it has become more popular in recent years due to word spreading about its high antioxidant value. Traditionally, the native Indian people harvest the leaves as fresh vegetable, and fruits are used to make the tea. The result is a red, astringent tea that refreshes and does not cause jitters.

Research conducted in Japan shows that rooibos possesses anti-mutagenic, anti-carcinogenic, anti-inflammatory and antiviral activity. Translation – it is powerfully protective. Additionally, Hibiscus appears to have anti-allergic properties.

It isn’t difficult to live the high antioxidant lifestyle, taking in foods, herbs and teas that will protect your body in many ways, reduce the risk of various chronic and degenerative diseases and make you feel good.

Role Model

My Role model can be none other than: Agnodice, first female doctor and gynecologist!

Being a young woman of the Athenian high society, Agnodice was frustrated by the law that banned women from studying. Encouraged by her father, she cut her hair and dressed like a man so that she could attend classes, particularly those of famous physician Herophilus.

In the year 350 BC, on June 3rd, she obtained the highest marks in the medicine test and became a gynecologist, still hiding her real identity. Soon, patients began to flock her practice and the other doctors, jealous by her success, spread the rumor that “he” would be taking advantage of “his” profession to seduce and corrupt married women.

Accused of raping two patients she was forced to reveal her identity under the risk of being condemned to the death penalty for having practiced medicine being a woman.  A crowd of her patients declared in front of the temple that if she were executed, they would die with her.

Under the pressure of the crowd, the judges acquitted Agnodice and allowed her to continue practicing medicine. The following year, the Athenian Council modified the law allowing women to study medicine.

Well, today so many years later when I read this, hardly can understand what it means to go against the society, how miserable life would have been then to be devoid of something as basic as freedom or the right to study and educate oneself .  Such things are achieved by sheer guts and confidence only.  She revealed under dire circumstances of death just to protect a woman’s most prized possession – Honour !

What a woman, none can substitute this lady from being my role model.
